Forest Bathing, or Shin-Rin Yoku is a nature-based wellbeing practice that was developed in Japan in the 1980's by Dr. Qing Li. It was created to counteract the overworked culture and bring balance to the lives of people who were experiencing stress induced illnesses. Forest Bathing is a slow sensory walk in the woods that takes no prior experience. A guide will lead you to mindful moments in nature and offer activities to connect and find peace and calmness. Children and adults benefit from this practice in many ways. This is a way to disconnect from screens, technology, and hustle-bustle and reconnect to the natural world and the people around you. Nature Therapy
Supports a healing journey with intention
Nature Therapy is an intervention program that is developed and customized based on the symptoms that the person is feeling. We collaborate with health professionals involved in the case and after extensive planning, the program will begin. Each session, the client will attend a forest bathing walk that is rooted in the goals that the client is trying to reach and will followed up with an evaluation. Nature Therapy has proven to lower stress, relieve depression, lessen feeling of anxiety, and build a sense of belonging and purpose. All details of the intervention are developed with the needs of the participant at the forefront. Social skills, confidence, attention span and sleep are all categories in which Nature Therapy can improve. Please contact me with any questions. Did you know spending time outdoors fosters creativity and critical thinking skills? It helps with attention span and decision making too. We have a plethora of experience with children and we love getting kids outdoors. This program consists of safe risk taking, mindfulness exercises, and outdoor learning all while getting energy out on a nice hike! Enjoy a drop in session or set up a small group hike with friends lead by me. We will walk you through the process and support you in getting your child outdoors and thriving!

As a teacher for over 9 years, I've seen how motivated and inspired children are to learn outside! Let's rethink what tutoring looks like. Let's reimagine what we mean by brainstorming, quietly reading, and critically thinking. Let's expand our range of ideas and lengthen our attention spans. A literacy book walk consists of guided reading or guided writing lessons. This program can be individualized for a child who needs literacy support or can be enjoyed as a drop in small group activity. The fresh air helps students focus, relax, and feel more inclined to learn.
