Why The Wild Compass?

The Wild Compass F-01.png

The Wild Compass is about discovering your truth, claiming your wild side and accepting who you are. It's about finding your own path to happiness and enjoying the journey along the way. The idea is to allow yourself to be free and seek joy in your steps. In an overstructured, overscheduled, overstimulated world, The Wild Compass asks for mindfulness, presence, and pauses.  As you navigate life, what do you cling onto? What is your directional? What keeps you focused and determined? What is your foundation built on, morals, values? It's okay to get lost, it's okay to slow down. It is when we feel lost, we often find a deeper meaning. Step out of your comfort zone, allow yourself to try something new. Nothing easy is ever  worth it. It starts and ends with mindset. Be open minded, be compassionate, do something worth something. Accept your wild, challenge your wild, and create your own path. Get out of your head and into the outdoors.

Hi.

My name is Gina Marie Paolozzi

I am the mother of two young girls and the wife of a very hard working, wonderful man. I am a former special education teacher, highly qualified in reading and writing. I taught in a middle school for 10 years and have always prioritized the whole child’s wellness. Certified through The Forest Therapy Hub, I am a Nature Therapy Practitioner and a Forest Bathing Guide with a passion in making memories outdoors.

I began to pause and pay attention to what I pay attention to. I realized that my favorite things about teaching do not have to happen within the four walls of a classroom. Throughout my teaching career, I've focused on the overall wellbeing of my students before curriculum and standardized testing. Taking my students outside for lessons showed me how the fresh air and open space creates a calm, focused environment for children to feel inspired and motivated.

Noticing the clarity and rejuvenation I feel after spending time hiking, camping, or sitting by a river sparked a curiosity in me. Once I became a mother and shared my enthusiasm for outdoor adventure with my daughters, I began to witness the true benefits of nature within my own children. Sitting front row to the wonders that mother nature brings to my girls is my favorite thing to do! I started reading about the proven health benefits and I knew I needed to start a new life's mission: Inspiring people to get outside more often to experience better overall mental and physical health and happiness.
