Why The Wild Compass?

All people should have the opportunity to access nature and we are here to inspire and guide adults, children, and senior citizens into the outdoors to promote overall wellbeing.

Children are spending more time indoors than ever before. They are engaging in their virtual world more frequently than their natural environment. Playing outside and connecting with nature plays an important role in mental, physical and emotion development in our children. Let's get them back outside!

Adults and children with special needs may find it challenging to spend time outdoors in a safe, comfortable, enjoyable way. We are here to support urban communities where the greenery is sparce. The Wild Compass is able to use innovative ways to connect all with nature.

Our programs are designed for individuals to learn new skills, discover personal strengths, socialize and improve mental, emotional and physical well-being. Join us for a transformative experience among the trees.

Nature Connection

We aim to provide people with the tools to connect with nature in a meaningful way so they can experience the healing and healthy properties of spending quality time outdoors. Recent studies show that spending time among trees or in a natural area lowers anxiety, heightens mood, improves cognitive abilities and attention span, strengthens immune systems and much more. Everyone can use a DOSE OF NATURE, and we can guide you there through FOREST BATHING & NATURE THERAPY.

Mindfulness & Mental Health

We want participants to unlock a deeper level of peace and purpose in their lives so they can have an overall better mindset. Building confidence, developing social and emotional skills, working on problem solving and sensory experiences will help people apply the lessons in nature to a more meaningful life. Nature connection empowers people to take ownership over their mental and physical health. We want to empower adults and children into taking their health and happiness into their own hands .

Literacy & Learning

We rethink literacy by taking it outdoors! Being in nature has a calming effect as it heightens our senses. We inspire children to read and write more confidently. As a language arts teacher, I've witnessed first hand how much more engaged kids are when they are learning outdoors! The power of reading and writing will support kids in all areas of school and life. . We provide standard-based reading and writing lessons, customized tutoring sessions, and a collaborative approach to support your child in their reading and writing journey.
